Commemorative Festival Art
National Cherry Blossom Festival 2014
April 14, 2014 | Poster & Product Design Experience
Chosen to be The Official Artist of the National Cherry Blossom Festival in 2014. It has been a pleasure working with everyone associated with the NCBF. I am thankful for the opportunity to partner with them and create artwork for this beautiful celebration of friendship and giving.
How it Happened
In 2013, I was looking for cherry blossom inspiration on the internet while creating Evelia Designs' calendars for Trends International. I came across the NCBF official website. Not familiar with our nation's largest springtime festival I read the site and saw they were accepting entries from artists for 2014.
Lillian Iverson, Festival Program Manager greets us at the hotel. She gave me a tote with samples of the merchandise. Tee shirts, keychains, etc.
Autograph signing on Constitution & 12th, Washington, DC. Posters Sold Out! I created art for tee shirts, shot glasses, commemorative beverage cups and more.
Sue Ellen from the Kettering Arts Council, traveled from Ohio to be at the festival.
Photo taken after the event but looks like inspiration I found on the internet.
